Understanding Your Toddler

 About this course

The Understanding Your Toddler Workshop Series is a 2-part facilitated discussion group for parents with children from 12 months to 3 years. The group is designed to help parents navigate the toddler years as they guide their toddler towards independence. Early positive relationships with loving parents promote curiosity, self-esteem and confidence in developing children.

Your toddler is invited to join you for the first session.

Interactive play activities will be used to enhance the experience for both you and your toddler.

Topics to be explored include

  • Brain development
  • Understanding your child’s verbal and nonverbal communication
  • Meeting the social and emotional needs of the toddler

The second session is aimed for parents only, but your toddler can join you if childcare is not available.

Topics to be explored include

  • A focus on challenging moments with toddlers
  • Understanding the needs behind the behaviour
  • Strategies for supporting their toddler’s expressions of strong emotions.
