Graduate Certificate in Child & Family Health Nursing
Tresillian has joined with the University of Technology Sydney to deliver the Graduate Certificate in Child and Family Health Nursing. This allows the Course to have a strong clinical focus enhanced by a rigorous theoretical component.
The program of study is designed to build on nursing knowledge and skills to develop capacity to work in a primary health care setting with young children and their families. The comprehensive study program focuses on infant care and child health, and the promotion of maternal and family health and wellbeing. The accompanying clinical experience program provides placements in community child and family health services as well as Tresillian Family Care Centres.
The course is one year part time. Classes are held at the centrally located city UTS campus.
Four subjects are offered via online learning and four face to face workshops.
The four subjects are:
- Principles of child and family health nursing
- Child and family health nursing 1
- Child and family health nursing 2
- Family and Community Health Practice

Applicants must have completed a UTS recognised bachelor's degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification, or submitted other evidence of general and professional qualifications that demonstrates potential to pursue graduate studies.
Applicants must hold current registration as a nurse in Australia. Registered nurses who do not have an undergraduate diploma or degree but who have recent relevant work experience may also be eligible to apply. Such applicants must present evidence of the capacity to undertake tertiary study. Applicants must have one year of post-registration clinical experience.
