Toddler Workshop
Current evidence recognizes that a toddler’s behaviour reflects their emotional state.
This one-day workshop provides an opportunity to strengthen your knowledge, confidence and practical skills in supporting parents and families of toddlers. It will explore the following topics:
· Toddler development includes brain development and social-emotional development.
· Regulation needs
· Relationships and impact on development
· The role of play in toddler development
· Understand and respond to challenging behaviours
· Utilise reflective practice to support parents to understand toddler behaviour as a reflection of the toddler’s emotional and regulatory state.
· Promote parenting practices which are responsive and aim to enhance the parent-toddler relationship and reduce challenging behaviours.
Early positive relationships with loving parents promote curiosity, self-esteem and confidence in developing children.
Target Audience
Recommended for all child and family health professionals.
The course delivery provides a mixture of evidence-based information, videos and interactive work.
