The First 1000 Days Conference

Nurturing Minds: Embracing Innovation

We warmly invite you to register for this year’s First 1000 Days Conference, on Wednesday, November 26th, in the ACT.  It marks the third collaborative effort between Tresillian QEII, Perinatal Wellbeing Centre, and Marymead, and serves as a pivotal event during Perinatal Mental Health Week. The ACT Government are proudly supporters of the Conference.

The Hellenic Club in Woden will host the Conference, offering a range of accommodation options in the vicinity.  Notably, the Abode Woden nearby is offering a discount with the Code HCLUB.

This year’s Conference theme revolves around ‘Nurturing Mind: Embracing Innovation’.  It’s dedicated to perinatal mental health and child and family well-being, presenting a unique opportunity for professionals from diverse disciplines, such as psychologists, social workers, midwives, nurses, and other healthcare practitioners, to share knowledge, insights, and experiences. Keynote speakers from around Australia will focus on the critical period of the first 1000 days of a child’s life, aiming to enhance understanding of the intricate complexities surrounding perinatal mental health concerns.

By addressing the mental health needs of parents, particularly in the context of supporting neurodivergent individuals, healthcare professionals can enhance their competency in identifying and responding to the distinctive challenges that these parents encounter. It’s well known that this improves outcomes for families navigating the perinatal period.

By equipping professionals with the most recent research, tools, and strategies, The First 1000 Days Conference promises to empower delegates to make informed decisions that support healthier communities for future generations.
