Guidance for Parents
The arrival of a new baby and every stage of your child’s development is an exciting time, but it can be overwhelming. Our specialist child and family health team at Tresillian Lismore Day Services can support you with practical advice and trusted guidance.
We have Tresillian Nurses and a dedicated Aboriginal Health Worker who can help make sense of your child’s crying, sleep, feeding and behaviour patterns.
Our aim is to give you confidence and reassurance to help build a positive relationship between you and your child. If you feel you need to speak to someone about your own emotional wellbeing, ask about our counselling services.
For a referral to Tresillian Lismore Day Services, talk to your GP or Child and Family Health Nurse or to self-refer, fill in this short online contact form and one of our Nurses will call you back.
For advice on your child or the best service for your family, call the Tresillian Parent’s Help Line on FREECALL 1300 272 736, open 7 days, 7am-11pm.
Telehealth Virtual and Face to Face consultations are available.
Your Referral to Tresillian Lismore
- Firstly, we’ll be in touch to arrange your appointment time. If a Virtual session is required we’ll email details on how to connect.
- On the day of your consultation, our friendly Nurses will take you to one of our private consultation rooms, set up with a cot and change table.
- The first appointment will usually take around two hours where a nurse will listen and work in partnership with you, to understand your family's needs and develop a plan and strategy.
- You’ll be encouraged to follow your child's lead throughout the consultation, so if they need to sleep or feed, our Nurse can help with advice.
- Follow up visits are usually shorter to see how you’ve been going at home. This may be in person, via 'phone or telehealth.

I would just like to say a huge thank you to the beautiful lady I spoke to earlier today, she was so supportive and gave me some very helpful pointers all of which, when I sit back and think about I know but due to self doubt lack of sleep and complete mental exhaustion I found difficult to remember. After her pointers some reflection, I have had a lovely day with my toddler and am looking forward to what tomorrow might bring.
